London Biggin Hill Airport has announced new plans for its boutique hotel. They and will be available to view at a public exhibition from 3-8pm on Tuesday 10 October at the Lookout Coffee Shop at the airport.
The new plans see a revision of an original planning application for a larger hotel that was approved in 2009. Comprising of 54 en-suite double bedrooms, a small restaurant, lounge and gym, the hotel is primarily intended for pilots and crew arriving at the airport, as well as for the engineers that are working on aircraft being maintained at the numerous MROs located on the field.
Robert Walters, business development director, London Biggin Hill Airport, said, “We are delighted to share our revised proposals for a boutique hotel at London Biggin Hill Airport, which will fit in well with the many services we already offer as well as providing further employment opportunities for the region.
“As the gateway to London, Biggin Hill Airport is outpacing the competition with some 15% growth this year to date. Services such as the dedicated six minute heli-shuttle are in high demand, coupled with an increase in maintenance of business jets at the airport. The hotel is a key part of the equation to ensure that London Biggin Hill continues on its journey to become one of the best equipped and most easily accessible business aviation airports in the world.”
